Body-Hitting Screen
We offer a ballplayers hitters screen that measures on mobility and flexibility tests in a pass or fail format.
We offer a ballplayers hitters screen that measures on mobility and flexibility tests in a pass or fail format.
This program from OnBase University allows Coach V to perform a certified OnBaseU Body-Hitting Screen for both Baseball & Softball players helping identify inhibitors to the 3 measures of Hitting:
> Power comes from the speed of each body part (the gears) and how well they work together in a synchronized chain to ultimately accelerate the bat.
> Contact is a function of timing and bat path. Correct timing and a good bat path create a larger acceptable margin for error, therefore, allowing a player to make better or more consistent contact each time.
> Efficiency is the player’s ability to adjust to speeds and locations of the pitch. By eliminating any extra moves that costs the hitter time and effort, it allows them to adapt to each pitch more successfully.
There is a position that enables players to adjust efficiently to different speeds and locations of the pitch.
Every inch to a ballplayers mobility effects every aspect to the 3 measures of hitting, power, contact, and efficiency.
This Hitters Screen will help encourage ballplayers to learn what physical limitations in their bodies are preventing their range of motion for hitting and poor stability to help prevent injury. Demonstrating the limiting factors of mobility in their bodies during a swing can help underly causes of inhibitors in a Hitters movement.
Upon completion of the screening, Coach V can help advise a Hitters combination of swing style and that accommodates their physical limitations to maximize power, contact, and efficiency.

The OnBaseU Body-Hitting Screen fits an overall assessment of a player designed to evaluate baseball/softball specific patterns of movement to identify altered patterns in pain free players. It does not make any fitness or medical diagnosis, it helps predict if and how a player’s body is engaging during their swing mechanics.
If the screen produces pain or players are complaining of pain, then parents must progress to medical assessment.
These tests help determine what the player’s swing might look like. There is ‘No-Warmup’ for the screening, meaning we are trying to evaluate basic movements.
The body should be moving properly even before a warm-up. ‘No-Pain’ is allowed and we're looking to be picky, so these tests are distinct Pass/Fail basic movements.
