At this time, PRIVATE Instruction only is available. For details
We will cover a variety of details within the fundamentals of three main CAPITAN Catchers skills which include receiving, transfers and throwing.
We also cover leadership topics, mental approaches with catchers-specific exercises that include core strength, plyometric training, flexibility, balance and eye-hand coordination.
Our 2-week catchers clinics for ages 8-13 yrs old will cover all major aspects of youth catchers behind the plate.
Players will receive instruction on stance, signs, receiving, ball transfers, throwing, passed-balls (3rd strike), pop-ups and bunt-balls.
Our objective for all skills development drills is to give each player a "can-do" experience and provide useful information by instructing the proper techniques, drills, and mechanics for the player to use at home, during practice, and during games for any position on the ball field.
These clinics are not designed for lectures. CAPITAN Youth Catchers Clinics provides a minimal player-coach ratio providing each player individual attention of quality instruction in a small-team atmosphere for 180 minutes per week.
Parents are encouraged to observe, and gain what many youth coaches and volunteers seek for there child by generating a value list of drills they can fuse into their own seasonal team practices. The programming for the clinics are impeccably detailed and timed to ensure all instruction is provided for young players to prepare for the season ahead.
The CAPITAN Youth Catchers Clinics staff is excited for the opportunity to help your player(s) improve their game behind the plate, translate them to any position on the ball field, and achieve the goals of improvement in the game of baseball and softball.
Each CAPITAN Youth Catchers Clinics will implement a 10-minute fitness session at the start of each meeting.
We'll kickoff with static and dynamic stretches to support the practice of integrated flexibility in preparation for training and exercises.
Plyometric training, also known as jump or reactive training, is great for players to enhance performance during their functional activities and rapid movements with strength.
Speed Agility Quickness (SAQ) drills with ground surface reaction forces. Side shuffles, speed ladders, and hurdle jumps will enhance motor skills and development of physical abilities in any sport.
CAPITAN Catchers youth fitness program details are developed by Coach Vives, certified NASM Youth Exercise Specialist leveraging guides from the NASM® Optimum Performance Training™ for Youth Programming Manual as its foundation.
